Unspoiled, rich and widespread: the Costa Blanca North in Spain

Did you know that the Costa Blanca is divided into two regions? The 400km-long coast consists of two parts: the Costa Blanca South and the Costa Blanca North. Each is very similar, although they do have their own characteristics. For example, the Costa Blanca North is known for its extraordinary nature, rich culture and great seaside towns. What is there to experience on the Costa Blanca North? Read on.

Cooler climate, but still sunny

Unlike the Costa Blanca South, the Costa Blanca North is a lot cooler. This is due to the mountainous landscape. Yet cooler does not mean 'cold or bad weather'. On the contrary. Even on the Costa Blanca North it is pleasant - and in summer perhaps even more pleasant - to stay. Even in winter you can enjoy plenty of sunshine here.

New York on the Mediterranean Sea

Although there are many lesser-known cities in the region, there is one name that will definitely sound familiar: Benidorm. The latter is also sometimes regarded as the "New York on the Mediterranean", because of the many skyscrapers that shape the landscape of the city. Not a fan of Benidorm? Then visit one of the other cities on the Costa Blanca North: Denia, Jávea, Moraira, Benissa, Calpe, Altea, Finestrat and Villajoyosa.

Rich culture

Specific to the Costa Blanca North are the small, authentic, Moorish streets that wind around and through the center of each village or town. Moreover, many of these villages and towns have a rich history that can be discovered in the architecture in the streets and in the many museums in the area.

Moreover, each port town also has its own identity. So you won't find anywhere similar to the previous village you visited.
