The West Coast: from Middelkerke to De Panne
Middelkerke, Westende, Nieuwpoort, Oostduinkerke, Koksijde and De Panne: these are the 6 seaside towns that make up the Belgian West Coast. Each with their own characteristics, although they have some things in common. They share a good deal of (war) history - each from its own angle, and offer a view of the most beautiful landscapes. This is where you walk for miles without even realizing it. This is where you come to rest.

The Westhoek
Located in the farthest corner of Flanders, the Westhoek is embraced by the North Sea and the Franco-Flemish border. This green haven of tranquility offers a combination of historic towns with authentic postcard villages, mountains and sea. Hopfields, vineyards, pristine beaches and dunes that rise high above seawater: no shortage of activities here.

Focus on the sea
Can you also enjoy gazing endlessly at the wild North Sea? Then Koksijde is definitely for you. The seaside town actually offers you three seaside resorts for the price of one: Koksijde, Oostduinkerke and Sint-Idesbald are seen by many as one entity. The nearby polder village of Wulpen also belongs to Koksijde. Together they form a nature reserve of some 701ha which offers surprising walking and cycling routes through nature and along the sea.
Still in need of variety? No worries! In and around Koksijde you will find cultural and historical elements such as the Abbey Museum Ter Duinen, the NAVIGO National Fisheries Museum and the Paul Delvaux Museum, among others. Each worth a visit. Want a taste of the sea almost literally? Then visit the shrimpers on horseback. Adventure guaranteed!
Culinary enjoyment
Are you a culinary lover? Then the West Coast is the ideal place for you to stay.
