Asturias

Asturias, Spain

Asturias is an autonomous region in northern Spain, nestled between the Cantabrian Sea and the Picos de Europa mountains. The landscape is defined by rolling green hills, deep valleys, and a rugged coastline with largely unspoilt beaches. The region is known as España Verde — "Green Spain" — owing to its mild, wet climate, which sets it apart sharply from the arid south.

Buyers are drawn to Asturias for its unhurried pace of life, property prices that remain lower than in other Spanish coastal regions, and growing interest in rural tourism. Oviedo and Gijón provide full urban amenities, while the coastal villages and inland countryside appeal to those looking to escape mass tourism. Access is reasonably straightforward via the airports at Oviedo and Santander.

The property market typically comprises traditional stone farmhouses (casas de aldea), apartments in coastal towns such as Llanes and Ribadesella, and detached homes in the Oviedo area. There are currently no active listings on this network available for this region.
